Cosmetology and Business Management

This program prepares student to NYS Certification in Natural Hairstyling. It also provides Business certifications as a foundation to a business major at the college level.

Students study nails, hair, skin, and their related care. Students are grounded in theory before practicing procedures in a lab setting, using mannequins and live models for manipulative skill practice.

Particular attention is paid to applying concepts associated with bacteriology, sanitation, nail disorders, anatomy and physiology, and safety.  NYS Certification enables them to open their own business or work in a beauty salon.

Students also take Business and Finance courses, including Virtual Enterprise, to build entrepreneurship and management skills. Our Partnership with Bank of America supports the financial literacy of students in the program.
